If it appears that all conventional treatments or medications used fail and / or cause too many side effects, treatment with medicinal cannabis may be considered for certain conditions or diseases. Note that treatment with medicinal cannabis can only be started as a last-line medication. First, the patient must therefore have gone through all conventional therapies. Medicinal cannabis is usually used for symptom relief and thus provides a better quality of life. To date, there is no evidence that cannabis heals disease; Medicinal cannabis is therefore mainly used to improve the quality of life of the patient (through symptom relief and consequently reduction of the pressure of suffering) or to delay the progress of the disease. Usually this therapy is used together with the conventional drugs.
